Investor Brief for Early-Stage Startups

Investor Brief for Early-Stage Startups

We are publishing our first scouting brief focused on an early-stage venture investor that reviews technology startups at pre-seed, seed and, in selected cases, pre-Series A.

We have already outlined how to structure a project submission for an investor. This publication is the next practical step. We are now releasing specific scouting briefs based on real investor filters, so founders can assess in advance whether their submission is relevant to a particular investor.

This brief sets out the key screening criteria: stage, project type, geography, ticket size, investment instrument and the baseline requirements for submission materials. This is not a general article about fundraising. It is a practical reference designed to help founders quickly judge whether their project is a real fit for the investor’s profile.

What the Brief Covers

The brief also shows what strengthens the chances of review and what is likely to rule a project out immediately. That helps founders avoid blind outreach and saves time that would otherwise be wasted on weak or irrelevant submissions.

These disqualifiers include an unsuitable business model, dependence on the Russian market, a funding request that does not match venture logic, weak project maturity or a weak fit with the investor’s profile. The brief also includes a short self-check to help founders screen out clearly weak cases before submitting materials.

Who This Is For

This brief is intended for early-stage founders who do not want to send materials to investors blindly or without understanding the screening filter. Its purpose is practical and straightforward: to help founders assess whether their project has a real chance of passing the initial review with this specific investor.

If your project matches the criteria set out in the brief, use the submission form and process described in the previous post. If it does not, it is better to recognise that immediately and either strengthen the project and its materials or focus on investors with a different profile.
